Leucobryum juniperoideum

Smaller White-moss, Small White Moss, Small Cushion Moss

Moderate careTerrestrialNon-toxic13 cm

A compact cushion-forming moss closely related to — but smaller than — the well-known pincushion moss (L. glaucum). It forms low, pale whitish-green domes up to 30 cm across on acidic woodland soils, rotting wood, and damp rock. It does best in humid, oceanic conditions with moderate shade. In closed terrariums its neat dome shape adds topography and contrasts well with flat-growing species.
