Macodes petola
Lightning Jewel Orchid
Moderate careTerrestrialNon-toxic5–15 cm
A terrestrial orchid with dark, velvety leaves traced by fine gold veins that seem to glow under light. It grows slowly along the ground, spreading by creeping stems called rhizomes. It does best in high humidity with an airy, moisture-retentive substrate and low to medium light.
