Taxiphyllum barbieri
Java Moss, Bogor Moss
The Java Moss found in virtually every aquarium shop today, native to humid stream banks and shaded forest floors across Southeast Asia. It forms loose, feathery mats by creeping across any available surface — rock, bark, or substrate — anchoring with fine rhizoids rather than roots. In a closed terrarium it will spread steadily wherever moisture accumulates, growing noticeably faster and more openly than its close relative Singapore Moss (Vesicularia dubyana).

Care
Prefers very high humidity, low light, with 15–30 °C, and reaches 8 cm at maturity.
