Barbosella cucullata (Lindl.) Schltr.
Cowled Barbosella, Hooded Barbosella
A miniature epiphytic orchid from the cloud forests of the Andes, where it clings to mossy tree bark and rocks at elevations between 1,400 and 3,450 metres. Each tiny growth carries a single fleshy leaf no more than 5 cm long, from which a slender flower stem rises well above the foliage — sometimes reaching 18 cm — to display a single hooded bloom in shades ranging from pale yellow and green through orange to brown and purple. Its compact size and love of high humidity make it a rewarding choice for a well-ventilated closed terrarium, where it tends to creep and form low, dense mats over cork bark or damp sphagnum.
Care
Prefers very high humidity, low light, with 10–25 °C, and reaches 5 cm at maturity.

Does Cowled Barbosella need drainage?

What humidity does Cowled Barbosella need?
Cowled Barbosella does best in very high (above 80%) humidity.
How tall does Cowled Barbosella grow?
Cowled Barbosella typically reaches 3–5 cm at maturity.
How do you propagate Cowled Barbosella?
