Peperomia argyreia

Watermelon Peperomia, Watermelon Begonia, Silver-stripe Peperomia

Easy careTerrestrialNon-toxic1520 cm

A compact, rosette-forming perennial from the Atlantic Forest of Brazil, easy to identify by its thick leaves patterned with silver-grey stripes over a dark green base. The pattern closely resembles a watermelon rind. Vivid red petioles contrast with the glossy foliage, and slender creamy-white flower spikes appear in summer. Non-toxic and easy to care for, it works well in open terrariums and can produce many new plants from a single leaf cutting.
